Sword Hunter Early-Game Hunter Plan
Codes, first merges, stick-to-steel, and a real pet before you touch the purple portal.
Early game in Sword Hunter is the hour where most accounts waste their first pile of loot. You spawn with a stick, you see Rank 999 art, you see a phoenix, and you try to skip the ladder. This plan is the opposite: redeem codes, learn the three keys, farm what you can actually kill, merge stick into starter steel, and leave the island with a pet walking beside you. When those four things are true, you graduate to the mid-game hunter plan. Until then, stay here.
Sword Hunter is free, live since July 31, 2026, and built for short sessions on 12-player servers. Nothing in this plan requires Robux. Friends can join you, but they cannot press merge on your base.
Step 0 — Redeem every live code
Open the in-game Store, scroll to the bottom box, and redeem before you hunt. The Roblox description lists codes in plain text; this wiki keeps the working set on the codes hub. Use how to redeem if you cannot find the box, and how to get more after you drain the list.
Early codes exist to shorten the stick phase: cash, loot, luck, a Fox Egg, a Rainbow Egg, a free sword, timed money buffs. Type them exactly. LIKE1000 is not LIKES100. UPDATE is not NEWUPDATE unless both are listed as live. The code checker is a quiet extra check. Discord drops belong on the Discord page once you want a second source.
Do not hunt for twenty minutes and then redeem. The buffs want to be on while you farm.
Step 1 — Learn E, R, and F
The official control line is short:
- E — Attack, and also Catch when a pet prompt is up.
- R — Toggle auto-attack.
- F — Select sword.
That is the whole early-game skill floor. Mash E on a wolf without reading the prompt and you hit it instead of catching it. Leave R on and walk into a Catch. Merge a new blade and forget F, and you keep swinging the stick. Read the controls guide once, then come back to this plan.
Movement is still a Roblox character. You do not need a combo list. You need to stop fighting your own buttons.
Step 2 — Farm the nearby packs, not the boss
Stay on the starting tropical islands. Hit monsters you can finish. Convert loot into cash. Walk back to base. Repeat. The farm monsters page is the later combat desk; early game is just “does this pack die before you do.”
Skip the giant red gorilla boss and skip the purple portal. Both are mid content. A stick hunter who camps the gorilla is donating time. A stick hunter who walks volcano islands is sightseeing.
If a 12-player server is crowded on one spawn, move. Online co-op is real, but eight people on one slime is not a strategy.
Step 3 — Merge stick into starter steel
Return to base when cash looks like a merge, not when you are bored. The merge table is the only early power spike that is guaranteed. Follow how to merge swords and then press F. If you skip F, the merge did not happen in combat.
Starter steel is B-band on the sword rankings. That is your first real blade. Leave it equipped when you log out so offline loot has something to work with. Do not sell the idea of Rank 999 to yourself while steel is still unmerged.
The merge planner is optional. Your eyes and the base UI are enough at this stage.
Step 4 — Get a first pet on your account
Empty pet slots are an early-game failure. Catch a slime, a wolf, or a fox with E when the prompt appears. Hatch the Fox Egg if a code gave you one. A slime is C-tier and still correct. A wolf or fox is B-tier and better. Phoenix is S-tier and not your job yet.

If you received a Rainbow Egg from codes, you may hatch it. That is a free A-tier roll. Do not spend your merge cash on extra eggs until steel exists.
What early game is not
- It is not a Rank 999 rush.
- It is not a phoenix pity timer. The 0.01% rate is a late hunt.
- It is not a portal tourism guide.
- It is not a celebrity player impression. This category does not care about usernames.

Graduation checklist
Leave early game when all of these are true:
- Live codes are redeemed.
- Starter steel is equipped (F selected).
- A slime, wolf, fox, or better is walking with you.
- You can convert a nearby pack into cash without dying as a default.
- You know where the base merge is without opening this wiki.
Then open mid game. Take the cave, the better eggs, and the gorilla farm only after that checklist. Early hunters who skip it spend the next hour on a volcano screenshot and come home with a stick. Merge first. The islands will still be there.
