Sword Hunter Purple portal and new islands

Leave the starter beach only after a merge, then push the New Area Adventure.

New Areas in Sword Hunter

New areas in Sword Hunter sit behind a purple portal gate, not behind a hidden menu. The starter world is tropical islands, a beach, and a jungle cave. Past the gate you get denser hunts, a volcano, and the content the New Area Adventure update is named for. Walking through too early is how a LV.1 stick becomes a screenshot next to monsters you cannot kill.

This page is when to take the portal, what the world actually contains, and how new islands still feed the same loot-to-cash-to-merge loop. It will not invent extra biomes, NPC quest givers, or a Trello board. If a place is not islands, beach, jungle cave, volcano, or the purple gate, it is not documented here.

Sword Hunter hunter with pets near the purple portal world

The world you can already see

Before the portal, learn the starter map:

  • Tropical islands — first farms, first wolves, first cash. The beginner guide lives here.
  • Beach — another early pack route when the first island feels empty.
  • Jungle cave — darker, tighter, and a natural home for the cave gem sword on the merge ladder.
  • Purple portal gate — the door, not the destination. Standing next to it is not the same as being ready.

You can catch pets and farm loot on this side for a long time. A Fox Egg does not require a new area. A blue wolf with E Catch does not require a new area. Rank 999 does require many merges, and some of those merges get faster after you can survive the far side.

When the purple portal is worth it

Take the portal after:

  • You have merged off the stick into a steel, gold, or better blade.
  • Island packs die quickly with auto-attack on.
  • You have pressed F so the merged sword is selected.
  • You understand that a slow farm on the far side means you should walk back, not stand there out of pride.

Wait on the portal if:

  • You still have the LV.1 stick.
  • You have unspent codes on the codes hub that might gift cash or a sword.
  • You have never parked a blade for offline loot and you are about to quit anyway. Park first, portal later.
  • You are chasing a pet hatch, not a farm. Eggs open on this side too.

The merge swords guide and the sword tier list are the readiness checks. The merge planner helps if you want to see whether the next blade is close enough that you should merge before you jump.

Volcano and denser hunts

The volcano is a later island, not a starter beach with nicer lighting. Treat it like a pack upgrade. If kills are clean, convert loot and ask whether the next merge just became realistic. If kills never happen, leave. There is no lore puzzle. Your sword is too small.

Denser hunts still use E, R, and F. Auto-attack on for packs, auto-attack off for catches, F after every merge. The controls guide does not change because the sky turned red. Pets you already have walk with you through the gate; you do not need a new fox to enter. Catch new wolves or slimes if the prompt appears, then get back to cash. The pet hatch page still applies.

The giant red gorilla boss can show up as a reason people push new areas. It is still a damage check. If you cannot kill island packs, you cannot treat the gorilla as a portal tutorial. Fight it using the monster farm notes after the blade is ready.

New Area Adventure

The New Area Adventure update is the named push that added or spotlighted this route. Read that page for what changed in the patch. Read this page for how to play the route. If patch notes and this guide ever disagree on what exists in the world, trust the updates hub and patch notes for the date, then come back here for the farm habit.

New Area Adventure is not a separate game. You still hunt, loot, cash, merge, hatch, and park. The portal is a new floor on the same building. Endgame hunters chase Rank 999 on the far side because packs pay better once you can survive them. Early hunters who jump for the name waste a session.

A portal session that does not stall

  1. Redeem live codes so you are not leaving a free sword on the table.
  2. Merge if the next blade is cheap enough to finish.
  3. Press F.
  4. Take the purple portal.
  5. Test one pack. Stay if it dies. Leave if it does not.
  6. Convert loot, merge again if the volcano just funded it, park before you log off.

Friends can walk the gate with you on a 12-player server. They cannot carry a stick through content meant for a gem sword. If your group is mixed, the weaker hunter should merge first or stay on the beach rather than wipe the mood of the run.

What not to invent about new areas

There is no documented Trello. There is no secret NPC this wiki will name. There is no YouTube route ID on this page. If someone in chat claims a hidden sixth biome, ignore it until Blade Evolution Tycoon shows it. Stick to islands, beach, jungle cave, volcano, and the purple gate.

When the far side feels dry, the answer is usually merge, not wander. Come home, spend cash, select the new blade, and take the portal again. The endgame hunter plan is for people already doing that on purpose. Until then, the portal is a farm upgrade you unlock with a sword, and the Guides Hub will send you back to merges the moment the volcano stops dying.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Sword Hunter questions.

How do I unlock new areas in Sword Hunter?

Take the purple portal gate after you have merged off the stick. Readiness is a better sword, not a quest item. Check the merge swords guide first.

What is the New Area Adventure?

The named update that pushed this route. Details live on the New Area Adventure page. This guide is how to farm the portal, not the patch list.

Should beginners enter the purple portal?

Not on a LV.1 stick. Finish the first-hour plan, merge, then come back. The beach still pays while you gear.

Does the volcano change the controls?

No. E attacks or catches, R toggles auto-attack, F selects your sword. See the controls page if a catch prompt is fighting auto-attack.

Can I catch pets in new areas?

Yes. Wolves, slimes, gorillas, and birds still use E Catch. Hatch eggs whenever you have them; the pet hatch guide is not starter-map only.

What if the new area packs do not die?

Leave, farm the islands, and merge. New areas are denser hunts, not a difficulty skip. The monster farm page covers when to move packs.
