Merging is the reason you farm in Sword Hunter. Monsters drop loot, loot becomes cash, and cash is spent at base to climb the sword ladder. The game is a free Roblox incremental simulator from Blade Evolution Tycoon, and the visible blades tell the story better than any hidden stat sheet: you start with a LV.1 stick, move through steel and gold blades, pick up a cave gem sword, push a rainbow crystal toward LV.999, and eventually hold the huge blue Rank 999 sword.

Where merges happen

Merges happen at your base, not in the grass next to a pack. Farm until cash looks ready, walk home, merge, press F to select the new sword, then go back out. If you try to merge while still auto-attacking a beach pack, you will waste time toggling UI on top of monsters.

Bring friends if you want company on the 12-player server, but the merge itself is yours. Other hunters cannot press the button for you. They can help you farm the cash faster by sharing a pack route from the monster farm guide.

The blade ladder you can see

Work with the swords the game puts on screen:

1. LV.1 stick — the start of every new hunter. Fine for the first packs on tropical islands. Not fine for the volcano or the giant gorilla.
2. Steel or gold blades — the first real merge off the stick. This is the upgrade the beginner guide wants in hour one.
3. Cave gem sword — the jungle cave reward on the ladder. You feel the jump when packs that ignored the stick start falling over.
4. Rainbow crystal LV.999 — a long mid ladder, not a single click. You will farm, merge, farm, merge.
5. Huge blue Rank 999 sword — the end goal players chase. It is large, obvious, and expensive in time even though the game is free to play.

If a blade is not on that list, do not assume it exists. The sword tier list is the ranking companion to this ladder. The merge planner is the planning companion. This page is the habit: farm, return, merge, select, farm again.

When to merge versus when to farm

Merge when the next blade will speed up the same packs you are already clearing. If a merge only looks cool and the next island still one-shots you, farm another loop first.

Keep farming when:

• You cannot finish the next merge without emptying yourself to zero with no offline pile waiting.
• You just merged and have not tested the new blade on the current island.
• A live code dump from the codes hub is about to add cash or a free sword, and you have not redeemed yet.
• You are about to log off and offline loot will grow the pile while you are gone.

Merge now when:

• You are still on the stick and any steel or gold blade is available.
• Packs take forever and the next shown blade is clearly stronger.
• You are about to try the purple portal and your current sword looks like a toy next to the new area.
• You have more cash than you need for the next merge and the extra is not doing anything in your pocket.

The wrong habit is buying random extra sticks from the shop instead of merging the one you hold. The other wrong habit is hoarding cash forever because Rank 999 looks far away. Incremental games reward the next step, not the fantasy of skipping to the end.

Rank 999 is a direction, not a shortcut

Rank 999 is the name players use for the huge blue sword at the top of the ladder. You do not jump there from a stick. You climb through steel, gold, cave gem, and rainbow crystal first. Pets help the climb because they walk with you while you farm; they do not replace merges. Hatch and catch using the pet guide, but spend the bulk of monster cash on blades unless a Fox Egg or Rainbow Egg from codes is sitting unopened.

Codes can gift a free sword. Redeem those before you dump a session of cash into a merge you were about to buy anyway. This article will not list the codes; open the working codes page and the redeem walkthrough.

Base loop, written as a session

1. Redeem anything live in the Store box.
2. Select your current sword with F.
3. Auto-attack a pack you can actually kill.
4. Convert loot to cash.
5. Walk to base and merge if the next blade is in reach.
6. Press F again.
7. If you are done for the night, park the new sword for offline collection.
8. If you still have time, return to a slightly harder pack and repeat.

That is the whole game loop. New areas, pets, and bosses are flavors of the same loop. The new areas guide tells you when the purple portal is worth it. The giant gorilla notes tell you when a boss is a farm and when it is a wall. The mid-game hunter plan and endgame hunter plan stretch this session across weeks.

Mistakes that stall Rank 999

Merging broke and walking into the volcano. The portal is not a merge. Gear up first.

Never pressing F. You paid for a gold blade and farmed with the stick. Select the sword.

Ignoring offline loot. A parked Rank-progressed blade collects while you sleep. A parked stick collects like a stick.

Skipping pets entirely. A fox, wolf, or bird does not replace the merge, but it makes the farm that funds the merge less empty.

Copying someone else’s Rank 999 screenshot. Their cash pile is not yours. Use the merge planner against your current blade, not against a friend’s endgame clip.

Spend the next session on one merge you can actually finish, then park that blade. Rank 999 is the sum of those sessions, not a single lucky code.
